48 Weeks After the Treatment

OK, so I only listened to Beatles music, I watched ONLY the movie “What the Bleep Do We Know” and never watched the news, EVER.  I must admit that I ran into a major problem with the depression and I had to find a way to overcome it!  I knew I would need to self-medicate because whatever the doctor could give me would be stopped from working by the Interferon alpha 2a and Ribavirin.  What was I to do…I did NOT want to start drinking alcohol again as that was a major detriment to my liver health and my liver was already compromised with the Cirrhosis from the Hepatitis C.

I began meditating for 15 minutes a day and that helped bring me presence.  Having presence is very important in dealing with people and even with just living life day to day.  To have presence in your life gives you the chance to be deliberate in all your actions.  It is very difficult to be present in every moment, but meditation helps.  Although it doesn’t keep depression away it is a great aid in beginning the day on a positive note.  This is key to keeping the state of mind I was trying to maintain.

There are plants out there that are natural and our grandmothers have known about them for hundreds of years.  Of course you can get into trouble and possibly kill yourself by tasting or making tea of plants you know nothing about, so that was not an option.  I had already studied plants back in the 1960s when herbal remedies were coming to the forefront and I knew about the effects of some of them.

I tried St. John’s Wort, Valerian, Chamomile, and a couple of other herbal teas. Although they were good for calming my central nervous system, they did not help my state of mind, which is what I needed.  Hallucinogenic herbs  ike Mandrake root were out of the question for although they allowed you to modify your state of mind, they were not controllable as far as the dosage and effects went.

Forty-eight weeks after treatment I was tested and proven cured of Hepatitis C by the laboratory!

OK, I decided to try the one herb I knew of that was mind altering while doing the least harm, according to all of my college courses related to pharmaceuticals.  I decided to make a tincture of some Cannabis, 70% Sativa/30% Indica. In making this tincture I can control the dosage by drops, which is really nice.  After researching it I find that there are many medicinal uses for THC and CBDs. I found that the US government patented marijuana over a decade ago – “US Patent 6630507 titled “Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuro-protectants”.

The thing you need to know about “Cannabinoids” is there are Cannabinoid receptors throughout the human body, including the brain. One specific cannabinoid compound found in cannabis is tetrahydrocannabinol, more commonly known as THC. This substance gives marijuana its psychoactive effects. But a lot of Cannabinoids have no psychoactive effects.

The patent states:  “Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and HIV dementia.”1  The patent was obtained in October of 2003.  I find it very disturbing that the government persists in making marijuana illegal when it is proven to help heal.

“The US government may hold this patent, but that will not stop their officials from consistently denying the benefits of medical marijuana. An FDA spokesperson, for instance, has claimed that “smoked marijuana has no currently accepted or proven medical use in the United States and is not an approved medical treatment.”I guess she didn’t get the memo.

It makes you wonder why the U.S. government is so unwilling to admit that marijuana has some valid medical properties. It seems unlikely that there is a popularity issue, especially when 60% of Americans believe that doctors should be allowed to prescribe marijuana. Maybe there are some lobbyists or bigwig campaign contributors that would get a little upset.

Since one part of the government applied for the patent of medical marijuana, and a different part of the government approved that patent, it seems logical to conclude that the federal government knows that marijuana has some valid medical properties.”

Another problem I discovered was that my body could not keep “good bacteria” in my gut, so I still struggle with that, even 11 years after taking the Interferon alpha 2a and Ribavirin!

To your greatest success!~

Shari
